short story

This is a short story that I wrote for english class. Hope you enjoy it!

Sophie looked at herself in the mirror. She hated her hair cut, she was also rather mad at the hairdresser. The lady had cut off at least 10 inches more of her beautiful blond hair than she had asked her to. She sighed, she definitely looked like a boy…“Sophie, please go buy some milk at the store before you meet your friends,” said her mother. Sophie groaned, she didn’t want anyone to see her looking like this.
Cal kicked his soccer ball and made his way to his game. A group of girls were coming his way and waving. He didn’t recognize them….“Hi Sophie” they called. He looked behind him, he was the only person on the street. They were coming closer. “Uh…hi,” he said.“Nice haircut,” said one of the girls. He thought about his floppy blond hair…he hadn’t gotten it cut for a while.“But I d.…” he tried to explain, when someone interrupted him again. “ That’s ok if you don’t like it, it looks great on you even though it does make you look like a guy” said a girl, whose name was Emily. “Are you coming to the mall with us?” asked Sarah. “We’re getting our make-up done.”
Meanwhile, Sophie was just coming out of the supermarket when she saw some guys coming towards her. “Come on Cal, you’re going to be late for our soccer game!” one of the boys said to her when the got closer. They were talking to her. “I’m not…” she started. Cal’s friend, Steve, interrupted her.“I know you don’t think you’re late, but you will be if we don’t hurry, we still need to get in to our soccer outfits.” Uh-oh thought Sophie. They were walking away, she’d better go with them.

Both Sophie and Cal were trudging reluctantly with their groups, both trying to explain their mix-up, but without much success. They were beginning to lose hope when all of a sudden…“Emily!” screamed Sophie, the girls were indeed walking towards them. “Steve!” called Cal. They both ran to their friends. At once everyone realized what had happened. They had mixed the two up, with Sophie’s new haircut the two did look very alike. Everybody laughed. “We’re so sorry” apologized Steve, “do you girls want to come watch our game?” They all nodded. The rest of the afternoon was spent cheering along Cal’s team. They all agreed that it had been a very good day and they were very glad to have made some great new friends.

dog attack

So I have decided to carry on writing this blog....I was going to start with a long deep post about my life and recent happenings but today as I was walking back from school something waaaaaaay more interesting happened:

Bye Sofia, bye Angel see you tomorow!" I say to my friends as they drive away. I calmly walk out of school thinking about all the boring homework waiting for me at home....then I hear shouts of Help me! Their attacking me! I look to where the voice is coming from and alas I see Tim Cannon surounded by two big and I mean BIG dogs. I don't know what to do....I walk down the street and see that Sofia's dad has stopped their car and are coming to the rescue. Out walk Sofia, Angel, Lucas, Candace, Cody and Mr Colmenares I join them as we run to save Tim from danger. Luckily he managed to make a hasty excape to the Mussers house. The dogs are no where to be seen *phew*. "Dude that was so freaky" said Tim, shaken. Of course the event was rather funny and seeing the humourous side we all burst into hysterical laughter. We proudly walk of thinking we have defeated the dogs (although we hadn't really done anything).
"Wouldn't it be funny if we turn back and see the dogs running towards us" said Cody casually. Haha that would be funny we all say. We turn back and we don't believe our eyes, behind us are the two dogs with rabies chasing us quickly.
"Quick run into the van!!!" shouted Angel.
We all run for our lives and push our way into the van... people are kicking and screaming...and I'm pretty sure I almost sat on someone....but somehow we are all safe inside. Still finding the situation hilarious we are laughingand we drive Tim home. Angel, who had discovered earlier at school that a taco bell was coming to madrid, suddenly exclaimed "Taco Bell is coming!!!" we all stare at her....
"We were just talking about man eating dogs and you remind us that taco bell is coming?" said Candace.
So yeah....we almost all got killed but it was so funny!

Bug Attack

My mum looks at the dishwasher screams and faints! There inside is an army of ugly bugs. Shocked I look and rush to the computer to Blog. Ok... so it didn't really happen like that but close enough. It's gross to have bugs living in your dishwasher. Also the other day we had a packet of open pastry's and when I was just about to eat one I see "chocolate sprinkles" on our pastrys and being sure that the day before there weren't any sprinkles I look again a see that they are moving chocolate sprinkles called ants... Any way. The conference that we went to was great, I had lots of fun meeting the other kids there, also there was a pool table which we had a LOT of fun with, by the end of the weekend we were all pretty good at it. Lately we have been watching lots of films, including alot of clasics and musicals. I have a new favourite movie "Singing in the rain". On easter Sunday we are waking up at around six ( ! ) to watch the sunrise and to have breakfast with some friends from the American school. Well thats all friends. God Bless.

Stefi's new life and she likes it

Sorry I have not written for so long but we have still no internet and I am am not always a very faithful blogger. Life is going good we spent last weekend in Malaga which was really lovely. I love the American youth group and have made 2 very good friends. This weekend we are going to a education conference and those two very good friends are coming with us (by the way their brother and sister and also have another brother who is Daniela's age) the whole family I can't wait. We are here at a library which in "Nueva" Alcala so there are hip-hoppers outside and all in all I do NOT like it here as it is kinda scary... Yesterday Daniela participated in a dance show but some of the dancing in that show was not pleasant to see (you know the sort, short dresses and wiggle wiggle). In the middle of the show these guys came in and started fighting (in the theartre) everyone joined in and puched around a bit until the policmen came and got in under control. I do not know how the fight started but rumour has it that it was one of the girls in the shows boyfriend who wasnt aloud in as he didn't have a ticket. Anyhow that was pretty scary too but Daniela's dance was nice, the ballet danecers put on Sleeping Beauty. Well thats about it. New up date I LOVE living in the country it is so calm and beautiful, hikes right outside your door what more could I want, no motorbikes nothing... but wind. Did i ever tell you I pretty much have phobia of wind... but I am now getting over it slowly but shorly. Well thats all... prayer requests internet, and friends for Daniela she seems to be quite lonely. What can I say but God has been faithful... and is helping me get over my many fears... I think this move has definatly brought me closer to him.

New Haircut

What do you think? (Yeah I do look kind of strange in that pic, ohwell). News: 1. Me and daniela have been faithful goers to the American youth group and have gotten to know a family with 3 kids our age well... which is really cool 2. We have had 3 good friends of Daniela come to stay which was really fun. 3. We are going to Malaga on the 10nth to the 12th to short but nice anyway. 4. Tamara (you know the one that I ve mentioned in other posts) moved away. 5. We still have no internet so I'm at a library

Well thats basically all... but all's well thanks to our faithful provider and friend God

Happy Valentines

Yesterday was the first day that we have celebrated Valentines Day, and I love it!! We spent the evening just as the family, we handed out cards saying what we appriciate about them, we had a heart-shape cake which was yummy (yum, yum) and we played a game of pictionary, in all a really great day.

That's the cake (after we had already taken a few wonderful morsels out of it)

We now also have a fridge which works fine, a real answer to prayer. The internet is on it's way. And... we are setteling in well. I have started to get to know Tamara (you know the one I mentioned in the last post) she's really sweet and helpful she always helps bring the food back to my house from the kitchen ( I know that doesn't sound like a big deal but when you have a big pot of soup and to plates and you can't be bothered to do 2 trips bvecause it's so cold well then its nice to have help). Here are a few before and after pics.
